It turned out to be a really good day for a hike. It was chilly and sunny with little wind. Only eight of us showed up at the airport and no-one came from the north. As expected there were many trees across the trail so a lot of time was spent clearing. Parts of the trail were clear of snow, but there was a lot of snow to cross. Microspikes were very helpful and most of us left them on most of the time. I took mine off several times only to regret it when encountering snow around the next bend.
