LBQ, January 24 with snow and trees

The plan was to hike Tunnel Creek, but the report was that the road to the trailhead was blocked by downed trees. We followed the backup plan to hike Lower Big Quilcene. The weather was great. The hike started out an easy downhill road, but as we got farther there was snow and ice on the trail. Microspikes were in order. There were also lots of downed trees along and across the trail. The farther we went the deeper the snow. There was a nice crust on the snow, but not quite strong enough to prevent breaking through. The snow made the hike much more difficult. This report is longer than normal because I received so many great photos.
