Port Gamble Trails, 11/15

Writer's picture: Mark FrankMark Frank

It was a rainy and windy day so we opted out of the planned Little River hike and decided on going to Port Gamble Heritage Park. We did not wish to get stranded on the other side of the Hood Canal bridge if the winds caused a shut down. That turned out to be a good choice even though I believe the bridge remained in operation.

One experience not covered in the notes was hearing a large tree fall just as we got back to the trailhead. There were several large cracking sounds with an eventual crash. It was some distance from the trail and not a danger to us.
