Happy Thanksgiving

Good morning everyone, I have an update for you on the Hansville Greenway West Project. The response among the Kitsap Monday Hikers has been overwhelmintgly enthusiastic! Already we have had 30 people say they are willing to support the expansion. I’ve reached out to the Executive Director and Development Director at the Great Peninsula Conservancy and they thank you all for your support. GPC says we do not need to send in checks now, but should just make a “pledge” amount. So if you will let me know how much each of you would like to contribute, I will add up all the amounts and fill out a pledge card. We Kitsap Monday hikers make good things happen! In other news, I am off to a family Thanksgiving next week. I expect to bring my laptop with me and get out a hiking notice. But if something gets in the way, never fear! We will hike anyway. Just show up at the regular place and regular time and decide where you want to go. Here is what is planned for the coming Monday: Walkers: The Walkers will hike Poulsbo’s Fish Park. They will meet at Muriel Iverson Waterfront Park (18809 Anderson Parkway, Poulsbo, WA, 98370) by the gazebo at 10am and we will walk to fish park. There could be fish in the creek! Hikers: The Hikers will hike Miller Peninsula State Park on the bluff side. They will depart from the Poulsbo Viking Park & Ride at 8am. Directions to the trailhead are: Go past the lavender farm, then turn right on Old Blyn Road, travel 1.2 miles and then take a hard right onto Old Sequim Hwy. Drive 3.3 miles, at the small green transformer box turn right into a small parking area. Mountain Goats: The Goats will hike Lower Lena Lake. They will depart from the Poulsbo Viking Park & Ride at 8am.
