Good news Hikers!
Good morning everyone, We were all a little worried about our willingness to keep three hiking groups going with Linda stepping back from her responsibilities for the hikers. But never fear! A dedicated group of Monday Hikers has stepped up to the challenge and will work together to pick out where the group goes. This actually similar to how the Mountain Goats work, with a destination usually set at lunch during a Monday Hike. Also Bruce, Frank & Debbie have invited folks to join them on their adventures. They usually start earlier and often meet at the Hood Canal Bridge for north destinations and the Target parking lot for southern hikes. Just let me know if you are interested in an early 7am launch. And of course, everyone is welcome to join the Mountain Goats or Walkers on their rambles. We had three Hikers join the Goats on Monday up Tunnel Creek and then happily came upon another group of for Hikers who were going up as we headed back down. Here is what is planned for the coming Monday: Walkers: The Walkers are hiking Kitsap County Guillemont Cove Nature Reserve. No animals allowed. They will carpool at the Kitsap Mall (Silverdale Way side near WinCo), departing at 9:30am or meet at the Trailhead parking (address: 19235 NW Stavis Bay Rd, Seabeck, WA 98380) for a 10:00am start. From Hwy 3: take Newberry Hill exit; travel to Seabeck Holly Road; turn right. Drive to Miami Beach Road; turn right - drive to "Y"; veer left onto Stavis Bay Road. Drive 4.5 miles to the entrance and parking lot on the right. Hikers: The Hikers will hike the Big Creek Loop. They will depart from the Poulsbo Viking Park & Ride at 8am.
