Updated Goat Hike, etc

This must be the week to over communicate

First, I forgot to include the time for the celebration of Ed Woods and his life. Now we have a change in the Mountain Goat destination for this coming Monday. Ten Mountain Goats were together yesterday evening to enjoy Cello Mania, produced by our very own Priscilla Jones. (It was just amazing music.) During intermission we naturally discussed Monday’s hike. We are worried that water levels are too high to make the Gregory Mine possible and also eager for high country adventures. So… a change in location! We’re heading to Tunnel Creek on Monday. Microspikes might be a good idea.

Separately, Linda Hahn has let the group know that she will retire from managing the Hiker Group at the end of the month. Linda has kept the group going through COVID even though she hasn't hiked in the past 2+ years and is recuperating from a back injury so doesn’t expect to be able to join for a while. We owe her a big thank you for her leadership over the years. I want to personally thank her for putting up with my scatterbrained efforts. Please heal and come back to hiking when you can. But that leaves us in a bit of a pickle: Hiker participation has been low so far this year. Of course, that could pick up with better weather. Still, we need someone to decide where the group is heading each Monday. Let me know if you are that volunteer. In the meantime, Hikers are always welcome to join the Mountain Goats or Walkers on their excellent adventures. Mark
