Labor Day Already

I guess we all have to accept shorter days and cooler weather. Personally, I am OK with it. I have two large buckets of pears to deal with today, so no worries about idle hands. And yesterday I got to learn a little about blogs and website development. This technology stuff is definitely above my pay grade! But somehow we stumbled through it and now there is a Kitsap Monday Hikers website. As of this morning, it includes a blog of the COVID notes, an announcement of upcoming hikes (which does NOT replace this email), “the rules,” a few pictures and a link to the Kitsap Monday Hikers Facebook group. You can check it out at: https://hikermark1.wixsite.com/kitsapmondayhikers Here is what is planned for the coming Monday: Walkers: The Walkers are hiking Newberry Hill Heritage Park near Bremerton. They will carpool in Silverdale at the Kitsap Mall (Silverdale Way side and to the left of Buffalo Wild Wings BBQ ), departing at 9:30am or meet at the parking area by Klahowya School and start the hike on the Deer Fern trail at 10am. Hikers: Because of the holiday and the bridge traffic, the Hikers will hike Buck Lake. They will depart Poulsbo at 8am or meet the group at Buck Lake. Mountain Goats: The Hikers will hike either Elbo Creek to Buck Mountain or Mount Walker, depending on their mood Monday morning (they are next to each other). They will depart from the Poulsbo Viking Park & Ride at 8am. Thank you Denise for the lovely contribution to the blog. And don’t forget to let me know if you are interested in a hard copy of our COVID notes.
