An important update on the Hansville Greenway
Good evening everyone, I have some really good news for you: The Great Peninsula Conservancy has reached its $1.8 million threshold needed to proceed to actual fundraising (beyond pledges) and towards closing by January 31. This means that our donations are even more critical. And since GPC has met its pledge goal, we can now donate individually while still denoting that we are giving as Kitsap Monday Hikers. You will find a donation form at the link below. Just write in Kitsap Monday Hikers in the memo area if you send in a check. Thank you all for your enthusiastic response. We will be contributing upwards of $4,000 towards the project! https://greatpeninsula.org/property/hansville-greenway-west-campaign Here is what is planned for the coming Monday: Walkers: The Walkers will hike Fort Flagler Historical State Park on Marrowstone Island. They will in Poulsbo at the Viking Park & Ride (in the very back) departing at 9:30 or at the trailhead (Google Maps address: 10541 Flagler Rd, Nordland, WA 98358) at 10:30 am. We park near the RV campsite/boat ramp/restrooms at the west end of the park. Discovery Pass is required. Hikers: The Hikers will hike the Duckabush. There may be snow on Big Hump, so bring microspikes if you intend to go that far. They will depart from the Poulsbo Viking Park & Ride at 8am. Mountain Goats: The Goats will take a second stab at Little River Trail and the Gregory mine. They will depart from the Poulsbo Viking Park & Ride at 8am.
