It feels good to be home!
Good morning everyone, Well, there you go: Patti and I proved that travel in COVID times is possible but carries special risks. We had SEVEN doses of vaccine between the two of us and still came down with the Omicron variant. While not critically ill, we were pretty miserable for a few days. So just be aware of that as you think about travel plans for the summer. Getting COVID while overseas presents special problems, too. So plan accordingly. We had a specific COVID travel insurance policy provided by Europ Assistance (through our French river cruise company, CroisiEurope). They really helped keep us calm and especially get home. I checked: they will write you a policy for any travel in the world. Here is what is planned for the coming Monday: Walkers: The Walkers are going to walk Banner Forest Heritage Park in Port Orchard. They will carpool at the Kitsap Mall (Silverdale Way side near Wild Wings), departing at 9:30 or meet at the trailhead (address: 6451 Banner Rd SE, Port Orchard, WA 98367) about 10am to start. Limited Parking Spaces Hikers: The Hikers will hike Duckabush River Trail. They will depart from the Poulsbo Viking Park & Ride at 8am. Mountain Goats: The Goats will hike West Elwha. They will depart from the Poulsbo Viking Park & Ride at 8am.
