Monday's Hikes, June 13

Good morning everyone, A message from Linda Hahn (who valiantly contributes a Hiker location each week) We’ve missed you. As you can see, we are now hiking in the Olympics and would love to have you join us. Unfortunately, we haven’t been getting enough participation to warrant the continuation of this group so June is the month to prove us wrong. The group hikes in the Olympics 3 out of 4 seasons & in the winter season, they choose to hike in the lowlands. The hiker group hike at a more moderate pace than the Goat group with round trip mileage up to 12 miles. How far you go is up to you and your carpool. If you have any questions about this group, please email the coordinator, Linda Hahn, at louhahn5@gmail.com. Here is what is planned for the coming Monday: Walkers: The Walkers are hiking Bainbridge Island’s Battle Point Park to Grand Forest West (via the Forest to Sky Trail). They will carpool in Poulsbo at the North Viking Park & Ride (in the very back), departing at 9:30am or meet at the Battle Point parking lot (address: 11299 Arrow Point Dr NE, Bainbridge Island WA 98110) for a 10:00am start. Hikers: The Hikers will hike Dosewallips. They will depart from the Poulsbo Viking Park & Ride at 8am. This is a wonderful hike. You will love it whether you hike go to Elkhorn, the Falls or all the way to the Ranger Station. Mountain Goats: The Goats will hike Upper Dungeness to either Boulder Shelter or Heather Creek. They will depart from the Poulsbo Viking Park & Ride at 8am. Walkers: Forest to Sky Trail: https://biparks.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/trail_GF_web_map.pdf Hikers: Dosewallips: https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/dosewallips-river Mountain Goats: Trail name: https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/dungeness-river https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/heather-creek-trail
