More Wishful Thinking

Hiking season starts May 5

Thank you Governor Inslee!

Thank you all Washingtonians who have done and will continue to do their best.

Thank you Walkers, Hikers & Goats for your suggestions.

We will stay on hold for one more week and have a real Monday Hiking notice next Wednesday or so. Things will probably odd, anxious and occasionally chaotic for a while and we may well have to pause organized hiking again if things change and tighter restrictions are required. But for now, let's smile and look forward to getting back on a trail.

Your comments and suggestions over the past week are that we:

  • Meet at normal places but practice social distancing and wear face masks.

  • Have an option to meet at trailheads for those understandably anxious.

  • Break into smaller, manageable groups while hiking, keeping social distance.

  • Consider different start points or start times if a larger crowd shows up.

  • Be especially vigilant when stopping for lunch.

  • Stay home if you don't feel well or have any reservations about groups.

  • Be kind & understanding!

And remember, we've been on break. Let's not over exert ourselves. Have a great week!

You will notice that I "dip in" from time to time with paranthetical comments, usually to laugh at how optimistic we were that life would get back to normal quickly. It didn't, but our optimism sure helped our mental outlook!)
