The Vaccine has finally arrived
I am certain you have all already heard the good news, checked your phase and made an appointment but just in case someone in Washington missed the good news…. Washington State has moved to phase 1B for COVID vaccination. That means anyone over the age of 65 can now make a reservation to get vaccinated!
This is really good news: it means we can all take some control over our health and begin the path towards a return to normal life (and hiking together). Yes, everything feels a little disjointed. But Patti & I were able to make reservations at St. Michaels (CHI in Silverdale) to receive our first dose of the vaccine on February 9th. We were also able to make a reservation for Patti’s mom, Dot. Trust me, it felt REALLY good to add it to our calendars.
Washington has launched an on-line tool you can use right now to determine whether you are eligible to receive the vaccine. Once you complete the tool, you will be directed to places where you can make a reservation. These include St. Michael’s in Silverdale, Safeway in Poulsbo and the County Offices in Bremerton. However, I do know that people have been able to make reservations at a host of other locations in the county and in Seattle.
In the meantime, I will leave you with a magnificent Youtube video Dave produced of his snowshoe adventure to Obstruction Point this past Monday. I am recovering and jealous!
