The Bitter Truth

Unfortunately the same as last week

I know, we all hoped things just might start to open up for our hiking group. But Gov. Inslee's Four Stages approach makes perfect sense. And as good citizens we must all do our part to help keep everyone safe. That means that we won't be hiking as a group for a little while longer (more like 14 months).

It is possible that some type of informal small group hiking (less than 5 people) could resume once we enter Phase 2. But it would likely be very difficult to plan and administer hikes. So we will see what the Governor says when we enter Phase 2.

Some good news: Phase 3 could follow three short weeks after that and we could begin hiking together then! And Jefferson County was specifically mentioned as one of the possible early openers.

In the meantime, I will continue to drop notes in your inboxes weekly as long as you all find it a welcome distraction and not a bother. Someone (who will remain anonymous) shared this lovely video with me. I feel like it perfectly captures my feelings about spending more time at home. Hope you enjoy it and are able to get outside a little for our 80 degree weather this coming weekend. And Happy Mother's Day to you all!

Mark
