The Weather Forecast

It Never Rains on Monday Hikers

With rain forecast all day on Monday I postponed a trip to the Lower Dungeness until yesterday. Fireman Bob and Jim went anyway and reported that the Monday Hiker rule still applies in times of COVID.

IT NEVER RAINS ON MONDAY HIKERS!

I should have known better....

In any case, the trail was still in lovely shape yesterday and you are getting a late update today. We started from the upper trailhead and hiked upside down. This give you immediate access to the loveliest part of the trail without much elevation change, but does involve a longer drive and a few potholes.

In other hiking news, Dave has proved once again his uber-Goat status. He recently hiked from the Elwha up to Hurricane Ridge and then down Wolf Creek in one day. For those of you wondering, Gaia clocked that in as 5,500 feet of elevation gain. My body hurts just thinking about it! Sue headed up Tubal Cain and reports that the rhodies & wildflowers are still in their prime.

And here is the feedback on using Sign Up Genius to facilitate small hikes in Phase 3: 10 Walkers interested 14 Hikers interested About the same number of Goats interested (harder to count, since I used the goats as a test group). So we will give this a try if and when we move to Phase 3.
